Hello lovely ones and happy full moon!
The last full moon of 2016 is a supermoon at 22 degrees of Gemini and takes place at 16.06 PST on Tuesday 13th December (adjust accordingly for your timezone).
Although not quite as intense as last month’s full moon in Taurus (which was the largest supermoon in 70 years), this Gemini full moon is still a supermoon, meaning it is closer to earth than a normal full moon and will therefore have a more powerful impact upon each of us.
Look at where you have 22 degrees of Gemini in your natal chart (you can use the free chart calculator on my chart to check this) as this will show you which house (and therefore life areas) this full moon is impacting but also look at what house(s) Gemini is on the cusp of in your unique natal chart as it is these life areas which will also be influenced by this full moon.
Gemini in the natural zodiac is the ruler of the third house, governing our mind, our voices/how we communicate (whether written or spoken), our immediate surroundings (our neighbors/community), short trips and our siblings.
As the natural zodiac affects each of us, this full moon is the perfect opportunity to heal and release any issues relating to the above areas.
Soulstrology says we can each take the general themes in this post and apply them to the life areas governed by Gemini in our unique natal charts.
Turning now to the specifics of this lunar event and how the various aspects can affect us.
This full moon opposes serious Saturn who is in Sagittarius. This is a heavy, tense aspect.
As we know, full moons can often be emotionally intense (and not always in a good way!) and the shadow of Saturn at this particular full moon can make us feel tense, heavy, fearful, sad and even a tad depressed.
At this full moon we need to look at the life areas covered by Gemini and Sagittarius because, as always, there is an opposition in the zodiac – this time between Gemini and Sagittarius – triggering all kinds of events in both houses which are on the cosmic stage.
A more positive aspect at play is the moon trining (a harmonious, flowing aspect) Jupiter, who is in loving Libra. This can help counter the shadow of Saturn by invoking the more balanced, harmonious effect of Jupiter in Libra helping us feel more loving towards ourselves and others.
The moon also sextiles (a harmonious, positive aspect) change agent Uranus who is in Aries.
Whilst Uranus aspects can sometimes be somewhat explosive, the sextile aspect softens this, meaning instead that the positive aspects of Uranus may be felt – swift and unexpected changes, propelling us into our futures, offering us positive progression and liberation.
Whilst we may feel a sense of heaviness, fear or sadness at this full moon we can harness the positive aspects to bring emotional harmony and peace of mind to ourselves which in turn may allow us to experience changes in the physical realm, perhaps with situations changing in a way that offers us progression and freedom.
Turning now to the title of this blog and what Soulstrology says is the most important release and healing that can take place at this full moon.
In 2004 one of my most influential teachers said, “Your mind is either your greatest ally or your greatest foe, which will it be?”
This remains one of the most profound questions and teachings that form my spiritual practice and the work I do to help others.
Research indicates that on any given day the average human has between 50,000 – 70,000 thoughts, which roughly equates to 35-48 thoughts per minute per person. That’s a whole lot of thoughts and thinking.
And ultimately our consciousness (our mind/thoughts) ultimately creates our reality.
How? Our thoughts affect what we do, what we say and how we energetically vibrate, which in turn creates our physical reality.
Thus, it follows that our minds and our thoughts either nourish us or screw us over!
When we think negatively or have thoughts that come from the ego (fear, doubt, pessimism, anger, jealousy, insecurity, greed, hatred etc, etc) we often utilize our voices (whether it is our internal voice or externally to others) to speak in a way that is not for our highest good, or the greater good.
Soulstrology says that our consciousness and the constant communication we have with ourselves (and others) are the most powerful factors that determine the life we co-create with the universe.
If you truly want to grow spiritually and manifest on the physical plane, then understanding and working with your mind and voice and making them your greatest allies is the most fundamentally important work you must do!
Soulstrology says that at this full moon we must not fear Saturn’s oppositional shadow and the feelings this may evoke.
Rather, we must embrace these feelings and see Saturn as our greatest teacher, showing us what it is that we need to heal, release and let go of in relation to our thought processes and how we communicate with ourselves and others.
At this full moon, regardless of what is going on in your own life or in the world at large, I encourage you all to focus your energies inwardly, to notice what negative thoughts you are thinking and words you are speaking and to release and heal for your highest good and the greater good.
Remember that we must all be the change we wish to see in our lives and in the world at large.
We must all take responsibility for co-creating our lives and the paradigm we live in.
At this full moon I encourage you to become the highest version of yourself by making your mind and voice your greatest allies.
Wishing you all a healing and transformative full moon!
