Hello lovely ones and happy new moon in Leo! This new moon takes place at 1.44pm PST at 10 degrees of the sun governed sign.
In the natural zodiac Leo is the ruler of the fifth house of love, romance, self expression, creativity, fun and children (including your own inner child).
If you know a Leo/Leo rising or someone with heavy Leo influences in their chart you will know that they love to have a good time, need little to no encouragement to express themselves, are both courageous and incredibly charismatic, LOVE being the center of attention and have a childlike quality which fuels them in their pursuit of fun, frolics and self expression.
As this sign rules the heart it is fitting that the life areas governed by Leo also include love and romance.
Leos hearts are their biggest assets. Their hearts allow them to be generous, playful, dramatic, romantic and to joyfully express themselves and to lap up the attention that comes with being in the spotlight.
Whatever our sign, with the cosmic spotlight on Leo we could all do with injecting some of Leo's qualities into our lives and our new moon intentions.
Onto this new moon which is a beauty. It makes a lovely aspect to Saturn giving the next lunation a boost of Saturnite achievement and authority which will assist the manifestation of our new moon intentions.
With Mars slowly retracing the steps of his retrograde at this new moon he moves out of Scorpio and back into Sagittarius.
As Mars retrograde slowed down a lot of activity in 2016 his move into Sagittarius at this cosmic window indicates that the next month will assist us in pushing forwards with plans which may have felt stalled earlier this year as the fiery red planet gets back into his usual flow giving us all an energetic boost.
But let's turn now to the title of this blog and what Soulstrology says we need to do in order to get the most out of this cosmic window.
Our hearts pump blood into the rest of our bodies providing us with vital life force energy.
Our heart chakra is the fourth chakra of the body and is the center of love, joy, warmth and compassion.
So on both a physical and spiritual/energetic level our hearts are the center of our connection with ourselves and others.
Soulstrology says that love is the greatest healing force in the world and therefore it is essential for us to have a healthy, open and flowing heart chakra so that we can tap into this healing and life giving energy for ourselves and others.
Yet so many of us, even if we are seemingly kind and loving people, do not always engage our hearts fully.
This leads to not loving ourselves as well as we ought to and also reducing the flow of loving energy in our relationships with others.
When we truly live from our heart we engage it in everything we do. We allow ourselves to vibrate at the frequency of love and then the universe matches that frequency so we receive back the love that we are giving out.
It's not always about romantic love (although of course that is part of it) but rather about being in flow with the kind of divine love that makes us feel that we are protected and cared for by some higher power.
When we live from our heart center we tap into our soul and what truly gives us joy and this naturally brings us into alignment with our higher selves.
This is when life seems to flow organically through a series of seemingly serendipitous events.
It sounds and is wonderful, so why wouldn't we all do this all the time?
Because it takes genuine courage to live from your heart.
And courage doesn't always come easily.
When we think about the life areas governed by Leo - love, romance, creativity, self expression, our inner child and when we conduct that review that I mentioned in the August cosmic update we may actually realize that in fact we are not truly living from our hearts or being courageous.
Ask yourself, do you truly pursue love and romance with an open heart? Irrespective of whether you are single, dating or in a committed relationship, is your heart truly open? Are you genuinely courageous in love and matters of the (romantic) heart?
When it comes to self expression are you stifling your heart and therefore your unique creative voice?
Are you allowing that critical inner voice to self edit rather than just being like the proud and courageous Leo lion/lioness and owning your unique self expression and creativity (which is ultimately the very essence of your soul) - so in fact, owning YOU?
Do you courageously embrace your inner child and allow yourself to truly have fun and 'play'?
These are all questions we must ask ourselves and address over the next lunation.
The spotlight naturally shines on many Leos because they live courageously from their hearts resulting in them emanating good juju and effortlessly drawing people in to their (sun)light.
But the truth is that if we were to all embrace the light of Leo we could all find ourselves flourishing in the unique spotlight intended for our soul in this lifetime.
At this new moon we will all have Leo falling in a different area of our natal charts (look for where you have 10 degrees of Leo and the life areas covered by that house) and of course over the next lunation we can set intentions to infuse those areas of life with the energies referred to above.
However I also highly recommend asking yourself the specific questions above about the areas of life ruled by Leo in the natural zodiac and answering them with an open and courageous heart.
Never underestimate the importance of the virtue of courage.
As Aristotle said 'You will never do anything in this world without courage. It is the greatest quality of the mind next to honor'.
I am wishing you all the courage to ask yourselves the tough questions and to set intentions at this new moon that are backed up by courageous action.
May you all experience great heart opening, love, fun and adventure over this next lunation, and may you own and express your unique creativity, adding light to your lives, and to our beloved world.
Happy new moon!
